Folk Art Trucks

0.00

By Alton C. Heath, ‘The Monterey Toy Maker’ (1900-1996), painted wood, Massachusetts, early 20th century.

Heath, a former truck driver, started making these sturdy, colorful trucks sometime in the 1950s. Meticulous details – layers of plywood, steel axles, bottle caps, leather mud flaps, parts of shipping crates, and a variety of materials – make each truck a unique creation.
